Hightivities: Cooking

Everyone handles their high a bit differently. Some like to veg out on the couch, others like to take advantage of the increased creativity and produce art and still others like to engage in more physical activities.

However you choose to ride your high, we want you to get the best experience possible. Selecting the right cannabis strain to pair with your anticipated activity can make a huge difference. Enter Elyon and our new Hightivities segment. Read on for recommondations for activities and what strain(s) to consume to get the most out of them.

Salt, Fat, Acid, Weed

Cooking: some people love it, some people endure it and some people say screw it and live a life of takeout and microwaveable meals. No matter which camp you fall into, cannabis can help make cooking (and subsequently eating) much more fun. Consuming cannabis before cooking doesn’t just give you time for the munchies to settle in. If you consider the kitchen to be outside your comfort zone, cannabis can help relax you. It will help subside any anxieties and give you an extra boost in confidence to start getting your mise en place together. If cooking is *your thing,* cannabis can still expand your culinary horizons, inspiring a creativity for daring pairings and unique flavor combinations.

Baking Baked

While Strawberry Pound Cake and Lemon Meringue sound a lot like desserts you would whip up in your kitchen, they are actually the strains we recommend to get you baked before the culinary baking begins. Planning a long day in the kitchen (hello, holidays…)? Lemon Meringue is a strain that will keep your energy levels high and your knife skills sharp. This uplifting strain is a cross between Lemon Skunk and Cookies and Cream. It will put you in a euphoric state but still able to concentrate on the task at hand. Preparing for more of a cook whatever you have in the kitchen pantry kind of meal? Puff on a little Strawberry Pound Cake and let the flavors take you away. This fruity, funky strain (a cross between Chronic, White Widow and Cheese) is uplifting just like Lemon Meringue but will induce a bit more creativity. It’s a pretty heavy hitting indica but will still give you enough focus to prep your meal to perfection. Just don’t forget to turn on the oven.

Cannabis on the Menu

Stoned cooking makes your munchies even more rewarding.  Whether you decide to create a seven course gourmet extravaganza or simply want to cook an easy weeknight meal, let cannabis be your culinary guide. Your stomach will thank you for it.
